E Rooms Academy and Rusty Guns
Group sessions at E-Rooms are a fantastic way to get out there and meet new like minded people playing in a band and performing regular gigs and events.

E Rooms Academy
Developing young musicians. Building confidence.
Creating the next generation of Skem’s music scene.
E Rooms Academy is our structured youth‑music development programme for under‑18s. Designed and delivered by experienced tutors, the Academy gives young people the chance to learn, rehearse and perform as part of a real band in a supportive, creative environment.
Each weekly one‑hour session covers essential musical and practical skills, including:
-
Band musicianship – playing together, listening, timing and teamwork
-
Song structure – understanding verses, choruses, bridges and arrangements
-
Rehearsal technique – how to practise effectively and prepare for performance
-
Stagecraft – confidence, presence, communication and performance skills
-
Creative development – encouraging ideas, expression and musical identity
The Academy is built around progression.
Young people start by learning the basics of playing together, then move towards performing live on the E Rooms stage for family, friends and the wider community.
Many Academy bands go on to rehearse independently, write original music and perform at local events including Skemfest.
Our aim is simple: to give young people a safe, inspiring place to grow, whether they dream of joining a band, building confidence, or simply finding their people.
Sessions are £10 per week.
